From Zimmerman to Lovekin

I started out in the photojournalism world as Tory Zimmerman, and was married in 2013 becoming Tory Lovekin. Around the same time I joined the staff of SickKids as the hospital in-house videographer and multi-media producer. It was an adjustment to go from freelance to full-time so I took down my previous site, Re-named, re-branded as a Lovekin, here I am again. My freelance career isn't as busy as it was before taking a staff job, but I am still shooting and producing videos and photos as often as I can.

Since entering the media industry in 2005, I have worked at Canada's top newspapers in a freelance and staff capacity. My love of photojournalism quickly evolved into a love of multi-media, and I am so grateful for my time on staff at the Globe and Mail for all that it taught me about the world of video production.

Early in 2013 I joined the Creative Services Studio at SickKids. My assignments are varied and vast, and every day is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on the inspiring efforts and dedication of this incredible institution. For a glimpse of my everyday, check out this video done by Maclean's for their "Cool Jobs" issue in 2014.

I am still finding time to freelance, and am happy to discuss any video or photo need you may have!
